Oyster encourages the concept of recycling and is focusing to manage the post-consumed plastic bottle waste, rPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) and rPC (Recycled Polycarbonate) waste which is generated from in-house operations of OT for optical storage media. This step is taken keeping in view the significant hazards caused by plastic waste. It is an effort to benefit the environment. OT produces high quality rPET flakes and rPC granules with stringent quality measures in place to minimize contamination.

rPET:
(Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate)

rPET is the type of plastic labeled with the #1 code on or near the bottom of the bottles and containers. It is commonly used in bottles of soft drinks, water, oil etc. rPET comes from plastic that has already been used for packaging, such as the plastic bottles, this plastic is sorted, cleaned and transformed so that it can be used again.

Using modernized equipments for production, OT produces
rPET from post-consumed PET bottles. We have a large network of collection working within Pakistan to source PET bottles along with a standard import setup from various countries. We are manufacturing and exporting flakes to Europe, South East Asia, Middle East and Asia Pacific.

We provide a variety of colored rPET flakes including:

  • White / Clear

  • Green

  • Light Blue

  • Blue

  • Orange

  • Mix

rPET can be used to make many new products, including fiber for polyester carpet; fabric for T-shirts, shoes, luggage, upholstery and sweaters; fiberfill for sleeping bags and winter coats; industrial strapping, sheet and film; automotive parts such as luggage racks, headliners, fuse boxes, bumpers, grilles and door panels; and PET containers for both food and non food liquids.

What is PET?

PET is an acronym for polyethylene terephthalate. PET plastic are coded with the resin identification code number “
1” inside the universal recycling symbol, usually located on the bottom of the container and is commonly used to package soft drinks, water, household cleaners and oil. PET is popular package for food and non-food products. Examples include soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, detergents, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products and edible oils.

PET is used as a raw material for making a wide range of packaging materials because its strong, lightweight, resealable, shatter-resistant, high on thermo-stability and recyclable. PET is one of the most common consumer plastics used.

rPC:
(Recycled Polycarbonate)

rPC is denoted as code “7”. PC is used in areas such as contraction, cars, luxury goods and medical devices. This material is tough and stable. It has a very good transparency and durability. At Oyster, we endorse the concept of recycling, the polycarbonate waste generated from its in-house operations of optical media is recycled to be reused again.

What is PC?

PC is acronym for PolyCarbonates, a group of thermoplastic polymers containing carbonate groups (carbon that is bonded to three oxygen groups). PC is durable, has high impact strength, heat resistance, and excellent dimensional and color stability. Polycarbonate is naturally transparent with the ability to transmit light nearly that of glass. It is fairly expensive compared to other plastics.

PC is used in making many different products, examples: Data storage media i.e. CDs, DVDs etc, Lenses, Electrical and telecommunications hardware, construction materials, Automotive, Aircraft, Medical applications and security components.

Support Our Initiative:

Various plastic waste collection processes are being incorporated in our efforts to cut down the adversities of plastic on our environment. It is the responsibility of every human in this planet to play his/her part in making an eco-friendly environment. Our
GO Green Initiative is open for everyone’s contribution.

It’s an exciting time at OT, are you ready to become apart of something special?
